Set Goals to Improve on Each Test

Any improvement in one of the performance indicators (Vertical Jump, Pro Agility Run, 10 Yard Dash, or 40 Yard Dash) brings about an improvement in athletic performance on the field or court.

The fastest way to improve the performance indicators is strength training.

Whether you are working with athletes or fitness clients, all strength and conditioning programs should begin with the testing and evaluation of each athlete. This allows the coach to assess initial performance levels and determine strengths and weaknesses.

This is particularly useful for one-on-one conferences to show where improvements can be made. Setting short and long term goals will motivate the client to work harder in the weight room where improvements are made. Many times parents expectations are unrealistic. The tests are factor weighted so an athlete should score similarly on all tests.
